Pedro Ayres Magalhães is a world-renowned Portuguese guitarist, composer and music producer. He founded some of the biggest bands in punk rock and pop rock in Portugal in the 70’s and 80’s. In 1987 Pedro founded Madredeus – Portugal’s most atmospheric, prolific and enduring musical export, by publishing and touring the first of many albums – “Os Dias da Madredeus”. The albums and international tours “Existir” (1990-94), “Espírito da Paz” (1994-96), “O Paraíso” (1997-99), “Antologia” (2000), “Movimento” (2001-03), and “Um Amor Infinito” (2004-06) made a huge impact in the world music scene.

Between 2008 and 2010 Madredeus published three new albums: “Metafonia”, “A Nova Aurora” and “Castelos na Areia” as well as a live DVD of Madredeus & A Banda Cósmica. Pedro also produced two of Teresa Salgueiro’s albums “Você e Eu” and “La Serena” in 2007.

Together with the keyboards of long time member Carlos Maria Trindade, the strings of Jorge Varrecoso, António Figueiredo and Luís Clode (two violins and cello, respectively) and the new voice of Beatriz Nunes, Pedro Ayres Magalhães is delighting worldwide audiences yet again, as he tours internationally throughout 2012 and 2013.
